Ottawa – The government of Canada has announced its decision to allow rehabilitation of Sikh and Hindu refugees fleeing Afghanistan due to excessive punishment.
The issue of these private sponsorship applications was being carried out by the Manmeet Singh Bhullar Foundation and the World Sikh Organization of Canada, community groups and non-individuals who carry forward the work of Manmeet Singh Bhullar.
Through World Sikh Organization of Canada in the 2015, late MLA Manmeet Singh Bhullar found out the fate of these children, women and men.
After this, Manmeet Singh Bhullar has started contacting government organizations in India, many organizations and individuals in the country and abroad to find a solid solution to the woes that the Sikhs and Hindus are facing in Afghanistan.
At that time, under their protection, only one family at single time was shifted from Helmand to the nearest country.
While arranging their food, accommodation, Bhullar felt the need for a permanent solution to the issue.
After the death of Manmeet Singh Bhullar in November 2015, Manmeet Singh Bhullar Foundation took over the command of this project with the help of Sikh officials, friends and families, and WSOs across the country.
