February 14 is celebrated as the day of love ‘Valentine’s Day’ across the world.

It’s not the first time that Valentine’s Day has been in controversy. In 2017 and 2018, Islamabad High court has banned Valentine’s Day celebrations and ruled the holiday as “un-Islamic”.

Now, in 2019 bizarreness is introduced by the vice-chancellor Zafar Iqbal Randhawa of Agriculture University in Faisalabad.

As per the Vice-chancellor, on the day of Valentine’s Day, University will celebrate Sisters’ Day to “promote Islamic traditions”.

The question that comes up is ‘How sister’s day will be celebrated?’

For this, the decision maker of the university has decided that anyone who wants to celebrate the occasion can gift abayas and scarves to female students.

Say no to Valentine-Day

Telling about his belief in the decision, Zafar Iqbal Randhawa says, “Is there a love greater than that between brother and sister?” On Sisters’ Day, it is greater than the love between husband and wife.”

Not been so sure not sure if his suggestion to celebrate Sisters’ Day “would click or not”.

Randhawa said that the celebrations of ‘Sisters day’ may develop a soft image and make people realize that how much sisters are loved in Pakistan.
