Chandigarh, November 12

With an aim to ensure healthy engagement of citizens in the entire electoral process, the Office of Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab organized a short film contest for the professionals as well as the non-professionals. The results were declared today through a Facebook Live event.   The topic of the contest was “Cleaning up the electoral system – Towards informed and ethical elections”.

The contest was held in two categories, namely short films and animation. A jury comprising of eminent filmmakers – Sh. Amardeep Singh Gill and Sh. Navtej Sandhu adjudged the entries and selected the first three winners in each category. A total of 88 entries were received in different categories and top three entries in each category were chosen.

Short Film – Professional

1st Position: Naseehat by Kewal Kranti Bhadaur & Sahib Sandhu Bhadaur

2nd Position: Ethical Voting by Chetna Films

3rd Position: VOTE by Sukhdev Ladhar

Short Film – Non-Professional

1st Position: NOTA by Alka Bansal

2nd Position: Department of Journalism & Mass Communication of Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib

3rd Position: Govt State College of Education Patiala

Animation – Non-Professional

1st Position: Alice Kiro, Akal Degree College for Women, Sangrur

2nd Position: Nirmla Devi, Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. Smart School, Manakpur

3rd Position: Priya Somani, Khalsa College of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Amritsar

Dr. S. Karuna Raju, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab congratulated each and every participants for their enthusiastic performance and declared the names of the winners. Mrs. Madhvi Kataria, IAS, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab interacted with all the participants in the end to apprise them about the collaborative role they can play with the department in Voter awareness activities.
