CHANDIGARH: Taking a hierarchical approach to the unlock process in the state, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Monday directed to extend the covid ban till June 15 with some exceptions. These exemptions include opening of shops till 6 pm and opening of private offices at 50 per cent capacity. The Chief Minister announced that night curfew would be in force from 7 pm to 6 am on weekdays including Saturdays but regular weekends on Sundays. The curfew would continue. With the positive rate falling to 3.2 per cent and the number of active cases declining, the Chief Minister allowed 20 persons to attend the gatherings including marriage and cremation. Admission barriers (negative covid test / vaccination) for visitors to the state have been abolished.
