Canada – ‘Shri Bhagavad Gita Park’ in Brampton came under attack by some anti social elements. The park was named after the Hindu Scripture recently.

The Mayor Patrick Brown taking on his twitter account writes a post saying he is aware that the recently unveiled Sri Bhagavad Gita Park sign has been vandalised and this incident has been reported to Peel police.

He said that Peel Regional Police Chief, Nishan Duraiappah has assured that such an act shall be taken seriously and there is zero tolerance for Hate and Vandalism like this.

In another tweet Brown writes about the update received on Shri Bhagavad Gita Park provided by Brampton city parks department.

The department clarifies ” We learned that sign was damaged during the original install and a city staff member brought it back for unplanned maintenance and to reprint.

Whereas Peel police has its own version on this incident.

The police said there was no evidence of vandalism to the permanent sign or any park structure. It was a temporary park sign used in park naming ceremony.

In the meantime, India has condemned such hate crime acts in Canada.
