It is truly amazing that even after so many years on this planet we are still discovering new species.
Apparently what new species have discovered, sometimes the right to name that new species is put up for auction to raise money for environmental causes.
Last week, the 12 new species were found in Latin American nature reserves created by Rainforest trust, that was for frogs, orchids, a forest mouse, a trap-jaw ant, a salamander, and a legless amphibian called a caecilian.
$25,000 was the naming bid and also the winning bid to name this creature.
It is 10 centimeters long and shiny, it’s blind and known to bury its head into the ground.
It is particularly susceptible to the impacts of global warming and in danger of becoming extinct.
The building materials company owner, who won the bids, said that the creature characteristics reminded him of a certain human.
So, he named this weird new warm thing as the ‘demorphis donaldtrumpi.’
