-Emphasis on getting the support of various organizations for planting maximum saplings

-‘International My Tree Day’ flax and banner released

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Forest Minister Mr. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot has urged all the social organizations working in the state to come forward to save the environment. He said that all enthusiast and willing organizations will be roped into work in tandem for plantation and conservation drive under Mission Tandarust Punjab.

After releasing flex board and banner of ‘GO Green International Organization, which celebrates last Sunday of July every year as ‘My International Tree Day’, Mr. Dharamsot appealed all the district forest officials to celebrate ‘My Tree Day’ at the district level on July 29. He said that with the support of various NGOs, people should be encouraged to plant saplings on this day. “Every organization, who is willing to make a special contribution under the ‘Mission Tandarust Punjab’ is welcomed”, he said, adding that to encourage people to voluntarily plant and take care of saplings is the need of the hour. Emphasizing on planting maximum saplings across the state, he said that green cover would be widened with the support of the residents of the state.

Mr. Ashwani Joshi, Founder of ‘GO Green International Organization has started celebrating ‘International My Tree Day’ nine years ago on last Sunday of July every year to connect denizens with trees since then the organization has been actively motivating the residents of Punjab for environmental protection and conservation with its unique efforts. Forest Department also assured of all possible help to the organization.
