Facebook has been distributing its users’ personal data – contact information for users’ friends and private messages as well.
According to leaked internal documents, sharing of the data has been done with some of the largest technology companies of the world like Amazon, Microsoft.
Moreover, the ability to read private messages of the users’ was given to Spotify and Netflix by the social media giant.
Bing, a search engine of Microsoft, was allowed to see the names of Facebook users’ friends without their consent.
According to news reports released on Tuesday, the social network company allowed Amazon to find users’ names and contact information through their friends on the platform.
Facebook Inc. has been whirling from a string of privacy scandals, embroiling in a massive data breach followed by the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
Cambridge Analytica, British political consulting firm, revealed in March the improper use of personal data of approximately 87 million Facebook users.
