Chandigarh: On the occasion of World IVF Day, the first of its kind Adoption Counseling Center started at an IVF Center in Chandigarh. Adoption is the last resort for couples who either cannot get fertility treatment due to some reason or do not get success even after repeated efforts. But, there are many misconceptions in minds of people when it comes to adoption. Owing to lack of information and awareness, many people do not even think from this side and keep on longing for the happiness of experincing parenthood all their life.

For them, the first adoption counseling center has been started in the IVF center itself, in which special counseling and doctor’s team will be ready to help the couples with all the misconceptions and legal information related to adoption and the eligibility criteria as well. Tis was informed by Dr. Neeraj Kumar, former President of IMA, Director MotherHood Chaitanya IVF Center, Sector 44.

In the conference on the ocassion of World IVF Day held on Wednesday, IVF expert Dr Vandana Narula said that about 15% of couples in Chandigarh face the problem of infertility and this number is increasing continuously.Geeting married late and consequently planning family late is the biggest reason for this. Also, due to sedentary lifestyle, PCOD and other hormonal problems, obesity, this problem is increasing day by day.

Dr. Poonam told that there are some complications in IVF pregnancy, however, there is no need for bed rest after IVF pregnancy. During the anti-natal period, women should follow a normal routine but should not hesitate to seek help from their doctor in case of any warning sign.
