Newsdesk – Former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe is shot dead by 41 years old Yamagami Tatsuya in western city of Nara. He was delivering speech when he was shot a bullet.
Police has arrested the assailant there and then from the spot of the incident.
The former PM of Japan Abe was strong supporter of Japan – India ties. He had stepped down from the chair of Prime Minister in 2020 due to illiness and health issues. The attack on Abe that took his life once again given a thought to go in history where a number of such political assassinations of world leaders had shook the people globally.
Abe was 67. The information coming in tells Abe sustained two wounds probably due to bullets but he passed away hours after he was shot bullet while delivering speech in a gathering. Strangely, doctors did not find any bullet in surgery conducted on him after he was brought to the hospital. But, he was bleeding before he was taken to hospital, reports say.
The suspect attacker held grudge against an organisation and he believed that Abe was related to that organisation, reports say. The police said the suspect used handmade gun but still further investigation is on.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a number of message recalling his association with Shizo Abe and also strong India – Japan ties due to the former Prime Minister Abe. He announces to observe state mourning on July 9 to mark respect to the departed leader.
As a mark of our deepest respect for former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo, a one day national mourning shall be observed on 9 July 2022.

Union Minister of India Amit Shah also expressed deep shock over the incident and paid condolences to the family, friends and followers of the departed leader.
