Chandigarh – Reacting to the recent incident of death of 66 children in Gambia by a cough syrup , Haryana , the health minister Anil Vij said the samples have been seen to the central drug laboratory, Kolkata. The World Health Organisation has issued an alert for some four cough syrups.
The incident occured after consumption of cough syrup and 66 children lost their lives, the cough syrup suppliers belong to Sonipat. The home and health minister Anil Vij said if the samples sent to testing matches with the syrups in question then strict action will be taken against the suppliers.
Anil Vij said he has personally talked to the state drug control officers and central governent would also be informed accordingly.
