The Embassy of India in Washington will organize a virtual orientation programme for Indian students preparing to begin or continue their studies in the United States.

The session is scheduled for August 20 at 11 a.m. Eastern Time and is open to students joining US institutions for the Fall 2026 term as well as Indians already enrolled at American colleges and universities.

The programme is expected to address adjustment to the US academic system, consular assistance and recent immigration developments. Speakers will include Indian Embassy representatives, an immigration lawyer and a student currently studying in the United States.

Participants will also be able to submit questions in advance. Registration and questions must be submitted by August 19, after which organizers will share access information for the online session.

The initiative is an educational and advisory programme. It does not create a new student-visa category, immigration pathway or exemption from existing US rules.
