DUBAI/TEHRAN — Iran launched missiles and drones toward several Gulf countries and locations hosting American forces after the United States carried out another round of strikes against Iranian military targets. Alerts and interception activity were reported in Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and Iraq’s Kurdistan region.
Iranian authorities said a U.S. strike hit a wedding gathering in Kuhestak, killing four people and injuring dozens. That account had not been independently verified, while the U.S. military said its operations targeted facilities connected to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The renewed confrontation has also heightened concerns about commercial navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically important route for international energy shipments.
