Actually, two days ago two leaders of the Congress had written letter to Rahul Gandhi to contest the election from the Bhopal Lok Sabha seat to Kareena Kapoor. In this letter, it was said that if there is a dent in BJP’s impregnable fort, then Pataudi’s daughter-in-law, Kareena Kapoor Khan will be contesting on Congress ticket.
Congress has not won the election from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat since 1984’s Sikh riots. In such a scenario, Congress leader Guddu Chauhan and Anas Khan have suggested Kareena’s name. Kareena’s father-in-law and former cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi also contested Lok Sabha elections from Bhopal. But they had to face defeat.
However, Kareena’s father-in-law Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was from Pataudi city near Gurgaon. Pataudi Khanadan’s relation with Bhopal city was connected three generations ago when Nawab Iftekhar Ali Khan Pataudi married Begum Sajida Sultan. Begum Sajida Sultan (Actor Saif Ali Khan’s grandmother) was Hamidullah Khan’s second daughter. Hamidullah Khan was the last ruler of Nawab Bhopal and Bhopal state.
