SAS Nagar, May 8:
The Senior Superintendent of Police, SAS Nagar,Sh. Satinder Singh, IPS, through a press release informed that a minor girl aged 7 years was kidnapped by an unknown person in the jurisdiction of PS Lalru. On receiving information, an FIR no 82 dated 06/05/2021 u/s 365 IPC PS Lalru was registered against unknown person/persons.

Under the able guidance of Dr. Ravjot Grewal, IPS, SP (Rural) and Sh. Gurbakshish, PPS, DSP Derabassi, Inspector Sukhbir Singh, SHO PS Lalru, along with his police team efficiently carried out the investigation. A number of police teams were constituted and sent to different places to indentify the accused and find the girl, where after in a span of 24 hours, they were able to track the accused , arrest him and get the girl safely back.
As per the facts, on 06/05/2021, a woman named , Bhaso Devi w/o Bhim Mehta R/o Ward no 7 Rampura Dehru, PS Bihariganj, Distt Madhepura, Bihar, presently residing in Dappar, Ps Lalru, informed the police of PS Lalru, that her 7 years old girl, had been kidnapped from home by an unknown person . The police of PS Lalru led by Insp. Sukhbir Singh , at once came into action and began the investigation, as a result of which they were able to arrest the accused named Ranjit S/o Ram Ashish R/o vill Beriya , PS Gausala, Distt Mahotari, Nepal presently residing in Dappar and handed over the minor girl safely to her family.

During interrogation the accused revealed that he worked as a labourer for someone in the fields in Dappar, and he had kidnapped the girl as he wanted to take her to Nepal along with him , but was unable to do so because of the imposed lockdown . He was ultimately caught by the police well in time.
The minor girl, after a complete medical check-up will be handed over to her parents. A thorough interrogation of the accused is underway and we are hopeful of more revelations.
