Ludhiana, May 9: To maintain best hygiene standards at the Isolation Centre set up at Meritorious School, here, the District Administration has installed a laundry machine that would be used to wash all bedsheets, pillow covers and other items used in bedding. This machine has been installed with a cost of Rs 6.25 lakh and has a capacity of 60 kilograms.

Ludhiana Mayor Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu and MC Councillor Mrs Mamta Ashu today visited this isolation centre and took stock of the arrangements there.

Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu informed that this machine has been set up by the District Administration from the funds received from State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). He thanked the Punjab government and especially Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for providing these machines at all Isolation Centres set up in Ludhiana.

Mrs Mamta Ashu said that the main aim of installing this machine is to maintain best hygiene standards at the isolation centres. She said that earlier, the bedsheets, pillow covers and other items used in bedding were being replaced with new ones on regular basis, but with the installation of this laundry machine. She informed that with the installation of this laundry machine, a lot of time would be saved, besides the people staying inside the isolation centre would get neat and clean bedding.
