Special things

– The smartest mobile phone can become the largest medium to win votes

– Smart phones and Internet users more than doubled in the country compared to 2014

– In the last 5 years, the number of active people on social network has increased three times

Political parties had taken the role of social media in reaching voters almost a decade ago, but in the country till the last Lok Sabha elections, i.e., even those who use the Internet till 2014, are equal to 20 per cent of the total population. Were not. Ten percent of the people were not connected to the social network. In spite of this, many big political parties, including the BJP and Congress, had a great strength in influencing voters through social media.

Especially in this, the BJP got great success. In the last five years, the social media’s own strength has also increased tremendously. Because of the use of smart mobile phones, its canvas is increasing. In such a situation, it has become a big platform for the parties.

Look at the data, compared to the year 2014 in the country, more than twice the use of the internet by 2018, while the use of social network has increased more than three times. Smart phone users were more than double.

In the first four months of this year, i.e. till the Lok Sabha elections, this number is definitely going to increase. According to a survey, an average of 94% of the people in the urban areas use the Internet from their mobile phones. This number is also increasing in rural areas. In such a way, smart phones can become the largest medium for getting votes. In this sense, this time too will be the ‘largest digital election’ for the Lok Sabha.
