The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has taken steps towards a historic victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections. T. M. C. Has crossed the magic number of more than 200 seats here. In West Bengal, there was fierce competition between Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress  and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Mamata Banerjee has been in power for 10 years.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has won the Nandigram seat. Mamata defeated her former ally and BJP leader Subhendu Adhikari by 1,200 votes. Let it be known that the battle between Mamata Banerjee and Shubhendu Adhikari lasted till the last round. Initially, Shubhendu Adhikari was in the lead but in the last round, Mamata Banerjee turned the tide.

Nandigram is considered to be the most high profile seat in Bengal, where 88 per cent voting took place on April 1. From here Chief Mamata Banerjee and Shubhendu officials were face to face.
