CHANDIGARH, MAY 1: Responding to the appeal of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the managements, employees and pensioners of PSPCL/PSTCL contributed Rs. 7.91 crore towards Chief Minister Covid Relief Fund.

 

Lauding this benevolent gesture, Captain Amarinder said these donations would go a long way in extending a helping hand to the people in these trying circumstances due to COVID-19.

 

It may be recalled that managements and employees besides pensioners of both Punjab State Power Corporation Limited and Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited have donated their one day’s salary/pension in the Chief Minister Relief Fund in the battle against coronavirus. Last year also during the floods in the Punjab state, PSPCL/PSTCL employees/ pensioners showed their solidarity by contributing one day salary/pension to CM Relief fund, he added.

 

Captain Amarinder also appreciated the services rendered by the employees of these corporations 24X7 even under harsh conditions during summer, winter and rainy season besides ongoing curfew/lockdown.

 

The spokesperson further said that this amount of Rs. 7.91 Crores had already been deposited through RTGS in CM Punjab COVID-19 Relief Fund.
