Chandigarh: Inter Media Public Coordination Committee (IMPCC) meeting for the month of July 2022 was organised today at UT Guest House , Chandigarh by Press Information Bureau, Chandigarh, Government of India. The meeting included various units of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, besides State and Central Government departments of UT Chandigarh and state of Haryana.

The meeting was chaired by Shri Rajinder Chaudhry, Additional Director General (Region), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Chandigarh.

Shri Chaudhry in his opening remarks emphasized the need to sustain synergy, cooperation, coordination and work consistently to strengthen public awareness campaigns on various public interest issues in the states of Punjab, Haryana and UT Chandigarh., with focus Vaccination and new initiatives, achievements and schemes that benefit people at large .

He also underlined the need of utilizing Social Media that can play an important role in reaching out to the masses through platforms such as microblogging site Twitter and others like Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp, in today’s time when social media has carved its own niche as digital technology that can disseminate information to the people in the fastest way.

He urged the members to undertake related activities with zeal and enthusiasm in the coming month, and asked members to keep contributing through IMPCC Platform by active participation in the monthly meetings.

The meeting was attended by various departments of UT Chandigarh and Haryana who actively participated through sharing their IEC activities and how other departments could help each other through a synergistic effort in amplifying the efforts and presence through Social Media, Print Media and inter-personal communication for reaching out to the masses to spread awareness about their initiatives and welfare under various government schemes for the specific target beneficiaries.

Various government schemes were discussed and IEC strategies were pondered to bring maximum beneficiaries under them and information can be shared within the public domain in such a way that it reaches the common man .The government initiatives included Solid and .Liquid Waste management, Single Use Plastic ban activities under Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission Har Ghar Dastak, Atmanirbhar Bharat, events under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav , Har Ghar Tiranga campaign , Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat and International Day for Yoga activities and events.

The meeting was conducted by Shri Harshit Narang, Assistant Director, PIB Chandigarh concluded the meeting with vote of thanks to all the participating members of the IMPCC group.
