New Delhi – The Director General of the National Investigation Agency Dinkar Gupta said India has evidence of social media platforms using crowdfunding  measures to fund terror activities. Gupta was speaking in a press conference regarding a third edition of ‘No money for terror’ conference at National media centre in the capital.

Speaking to media persons Gupta said the issue will be discuused at conference which India is hosting on November 18-19. He said the misuse of social media was an issue which needed to be discussed at the third  ‘No money for terror’ conference and it would be attended by the representatives of 78 countries. He said that Pakistan and Afghanistan were not attending the conference whereas China’s participation is yet to be confirmed.

Gupta said that an integrated approach to counter terrorism is needed which would be centre of discussion.  Adding more details , he said the ministers from 20 countries have confirned their participation and there would be 450 representatives taking part in the conference including representatives from Europol, Financial Action Task Force and Interpol.

Prime Minister Narender Modi will be inaugurating the session. The gains and losses of previous two meetings held in Paris and Melbourne will be taken into consideration whereas working towards global cooperation to deny finances to terror activities and terrorists will be discussed in the sessions.
