Bajwa says he doubts CM Mann’s confirmation on Goldy Brar’s arrest because he has previously been caught lying on various issues.

Chandigarh – Following the controversy that arose over the arrest of alleged gangster, Goldy Brar, who is considered to be the mastermind in the murder of the internationally acclaimed singer and rapper, Sidhu Moosewala, in the US, Senior Congress Leader and Punjab’s Leader of Opposition, Partap Singh Bajwa sought a detailed official statement from a senior official of Ministery of External Affairs or some official from Union Home Ministry to end the speculations.

“Although Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, while addressing a press conference in Gujarat, confirmed Goldy Brar’s arrest, we doubt his confirmation because Mann has previously been caught lying on various issues. Mann often issues statements or makes promises that later on turned out to be misleading or hollow”, said Bajwa.

He said that during his visit to Germany in September, Mann falsely announced that the automobile giant, BMW had agreed to set up an auto parts manufacturing unit in Punjab. A day after this announcement, BMW issued a statement that it had no plans to set up an auto parts manufacturing unit in Punjab.

“He (Mann) persuaded the farmers to grow Moong Dal with a hollow commitment that the Punjab government would procure the produce at Minimum Support Price. The farmers afterward felt cheated as only 10 percent of their crop was bought on MSP. Similarly, the paddy growers, who adopted DSR after assurances of CM Mann got disappointed with compensation”, LoP said in a statement.

Bajwa said that as a star campaigner in Gujarat, CM Mann had lied on numerous issues including law and order situations, employment situation, an old pension scheme, and the financial condition of the state. The list of his lies was long, hence it was hard to believe what CM claimed.

“Since Goldy Brar is believed to be the mastermind in the brutal murder of singer and rapper, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu aka Sidhu Moosewala, the people of Punjab have strong sentiments with this case, thus, they deserve to know the truth about Goldy Brar’s arrest”, said Bajwa.
