Patiala, April 16: Acting swiftly, Social Security, Women and Child Development department’s district body ‘Patiala Child Welfare Unit’ has reunited 3 year old child with his parents in Jammu with the assistance of a Child Welfare Unit of Jammu. Mayankvir Singh was stuck with his maternal grandparents in Patiala due to nationwide curfew and lockdown in the wake of spread of Corona virus.

            Divulging further, Patiala Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kumar Amit said that 3-year-old boy Mayankvir Singh of Kathua (Jammu) had come to meet his maternal grandparents at Urban Estate Phase-II, while his mother Puneet Kaur was staying at Kathua and father Ajit Singh is working in Canara Bank at Gwalior. He said that Mayankvir’s materal grandparents and mother have approached the office of the District Child Protection Unit Patiala and asked for the help.

            “Assistant Commissioner (General) Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh, in coordination with the Patiala Child Welfare Unit has established contact with Kathua Child Welfare Unit and provided inter-state pass for sending the child to his parental home at Kuthua. Subsequently, District Program Officer Mr. Gulbahar Singh Toor and District Child Protection Officer Mrs. Rupwant Kaur have made arrangements for sending him to Kathua.

            After Mayankvir’s arrival at Jammu border, he was medically examined by medial team of Jammu administration and handed over to his mother Puneet Kaur. She appreciated the endeavour of district administration and Government of Punjab.
