New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices are reaching new heights on a daily basis. In the country’s four largest metros, petrol became costlier by 27 paise and diesel by 31 paise on Tuesday. According to Indian Oil Corporation, a major oil marketing company, petrol became costlier by 27 paise in the national capital today at Rs 91.80 per liter. Diesel price rose by 30 paise to Rs 82.36 per liter. Petrol has gone up by Rs 1.40 and diesel by Rs 1.63 in Delhi since May 4. In these eight days, prices have risen for six days while remaining stable for two days.

Petrol price was hiked by 26 paise each in Mumbai and Kolkata and 24 paise in Chennai. The price of a liter of petrol has gone up by Rs 98.12 in Mumbai, Rs 93.62 in Chennai and Rs 91.92 in Kolkata. Diesel price has gone up by 31 paise to Rs 89.48 in Mumbai, 29 paise to Rs 87.25 in Chennai and Rs 30 in Kolkata. Money rose to Rs 85.20 per liter. Petrol-Diesel are reviewed daily and new prices are applied on a daily basis from 6 am onwards.
