Chandigarh, October 2: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday announced ex-gratia compensation of Rs 50 lakh, along with government job to a family member, of Havildar Kuldeep Singh of 15 SIKH LI, who laid down his life on the line of control during cross border firing in Jammu & Kashmir.

Paying glowing tributes to the martyr and extending his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, the Chief Minister said that Havildar Kuldeep Singh laid down his life fighting valiantly for the country and the grateful nation would always remember his supreme sacrifice which would act as an inspiration for the future generations.

Notably, martyr’s father Honorary Captain Mohan Singh also served in the Army in same unit and his three brothers are also serving in SIKH LI REGIMENT in the Army. Martyr Havildar Kuldeep Singh belonged to village Raju Dwakhri (Hoshiarpur) and is survived by his parents, wife besides an eight year old son and ten year old daughter.
