CHANDIGARH: At least ten thousand Congress workers from Punjab will participate in the September 4 rally being organized by the party in Delhi against the back-breaking inflation. This was disclosed by the PCC president, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring after attending a meeting of senior party leaders here today.

The meeting was chaired by the AICC secretary in charge for Punjab, Harish Chaudhary and attended among others by the Congress Legislative Party leader in the Vidhan Sabha Partap Singh Bajwa, MPs, former ministers, sitting and ex-MLAs.

Warring said, Congress workers from Punjab will reach Delhi on the same day and they will gather at two places in the Delhi outskirts from where they will all go together to the rally venue.

The PCC president disclosed that all the Congress MLAs and those who contested the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections attended today’s meeting. It was decided that each MLA and constituency representatives will bring along a limited number of people only.

This was being done to avoid overcrowding since people from other northern states will also join the protest, besides those from the national capital, he added. The meeting also deliberated upon the arrangements for the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which will reach Punjab during its last leg. The Yatra will remain in Punjab for over a week and will touch most constituencies before entering Jammu and Kashmir.
