Chandigarh: The Punjab Congress will soon be launching a statewide programme to remind the Aam Aadmi Party government of its promises it made to people of Punjab but has backed out completely. Disclosing this here today, after presiding over a meeting of Mayors, Senior Deputy Mayors and Mayors from across Punjab, the Congress Working President Bharat Bhushan Ashu said, people were angry and annoyed as this government was doing nothing except hollow talks.

“But we will get it into their minds that they are already in power and now is time of delivery”, he said, adding, the Congress party will go to any extent to bring this government out of its “honeymoon slumber”. Ashu said the party wanted to take feedback from the mayors, senior deputy mayors and deputy mayors about the prevailing situation in the state, the cities in particular.

He disclosed that people were completely alienated and disillusioned with the Aam Aadmi Party government as it had failed in all its promises and commitments made before the elections. “What to speak of free power, people even in urban areas are not getting paid power, while the rural areas are completely drowned in darkness in this scorching summer”, the working president said, while adding that the Congress will soon launch a statewide campaign to remind the government of its promises as the honeymoon period was already over.
