-ACS HOME SEEKS COOPERATIONS FROM GOVERNMENTS OF MADHYA PRADESH AND RAJASTHAN FOR HASSLE FREE RETURN OF PILGRIMS

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 23: The Punjab Government has requested the Maharashtra Government to allow safe passage to over 3000 pilgrims from the state, who are stranded in Nanded due to lockdown in wake of COVID-19.

Disclosing this here today an official Spokesperson said that the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Satish Chandra has taken up with Maharashtra Government through a letter informing that said pilgrims would return to the state by bus/road by Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Likewise, the Governments and district authorities of both these states have also been requested to cooperate to facilitate the hassle free return of the pilgrims.

The ACS further pointed out that on return all these pilgrims would be screened and home quarantined for 14 days as per the health advisory issued by state Government in line with the guidelines of Government of India.
