Chandigarh – Punjab Congress Committee President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today condemned the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for misusing Punjab Police to settle personal scores with his political opponents like Alka Lamba and Kumar Vishwas.

He said the chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has started abusing power using Punjab Police to settle personal score with his political opponents like Alka Lamba and Kumar Vishwas as CM Bhagwant Mann watches helplessly”, Raja Warring tweeted today.

Reacting to the registration of FIR against Lamba and Dr Vishwas by Ropar Police, Raja Warring said, it was outright abuse of power by an extra-constitutional authority like Kejriwal, who has no legitimate or constitutional authority to exercise control over Punjab Police.

The PCC President also questioned the “helpless silence” of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who also heads the Home portfolio. “Just because somebody was critical of you during the elections does not mean you put them behind bars to settle personal scores and satisfy your ego”, he told Kejriwal, while warning him against setting a dangerous precedent.

Raja Warring also cautioned the Director General of Punjab Police against playing second fiddle to an outside authority like Delhi Chief Minister. He said the law and order situation has gone for a toss since the Aam Aadmi Party took over in Punjab. “Instead of diverting your energies in fixing political opponents of Kejriwal, you should focus on improving law and order in the state”, he told the DGP.
