The United States of America observes November 20 as children day which is also the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
Pandit Nehru was fond of children and always engaged in conversations with them.
On this day, students indulge in various recreational activities and merrymaking.
The schools organize events to entertain the students and also lend a helping hand to orphans and underprivileged children.
Before the independence of India in 1947, the day was celebrated on 20 November.
But after Pandit Nehru’s death in 1964, it was unanimously decided to celebrate the day on his birthday.
It is a tribute to the man who adore kids, the freedom fighter.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind paid their tributes to Pandit Nehru, first Prime Minister of India.
