Canada – Canadian College of Aryuveda and Yoga on the occasion of Father’s Day and International Yoga Day in association with Tathaastu organised virtual lecture series 1 on Zoom.

The virtual series commenced on June 19 which would be continued onwards as  the time is scheduled for every sunday at 8pm to 9pm in India (IST time) and will be connected at 10.30 am to 11.30 am in Canada and US (EST time).

According to the information shared by the college officials, Vaidya Harish Verma has  launched another virtual lecture series after the successful display of the first of its kind lecture series in Canada on Zoom Platform.

MPP Neena Tangri raises question for not acknowledging Ayurvedic medicine but hopes  it would be recognised soon in Canada. Furthermore, She says if Homeopathy is recognized then the centuries old Ayurveda which is globally famous for curing diseases without side effects must also be legalized.

Neena Tangri said Research on Ayurveda is must for global reach of Ayurveda. She said she would definitely be pushing through Ministry of Health in Ontario for research and recognition of this centuries old medicine science to be regulated.

The Counsel General of India in Toronto, Canada India Foundation and Canadian College of Ayurveda and Yoga, Tathastu, International Ayurveda League, European Ayurveda Association, Canadian Ayurvedic Practitioners Association, Association of Ayurveda Academy CIC launched virtual Lecture series on Pharmacological & Therapeutic Effects of Top 75 Traditional Ayurvedic Medicines(TAM) in Canada today.

The Vaidya Harish Verma who lives in Canada demands research and study in foreign countries on traditional Ayurvedic medicine to prove the effects of traditional medicine. While speaking on the occasion, he explains it is tough to use term Ayurveda as medicine in Canada as it is not recognized and approved in Canada. He said, otherwise,  Canadians use this traditional remedial methods without any formal advice from experts. He thanked CIF and CGI for moderating inaugural session of medicine.

The spokesman of Indian Ministry of Ayush Narayan said he would persuade the Ministry of Ayush to Co- host this series of seminar as he found it very important in promoting Indian cause of promoting Ayurveda in foreign lands.

Speaking on the occasion, Apoorva Srivastva the Counsel General of India in Toronto raises demands support from Associate Minister for small Industries & Red Tape Reduction, Government of Ontario Neena Tangri for recognition to Ayurveda in Canada. She said Tangri could raise this demand to the state government for the Indian Diaspora as 1.8 million Indians are , 800,000 Indian citizens working here. She narrated the importance of Traditional Indian Science for body, mental and spiritual care especially by Ayurveda. Apoorva asserts they are lagging behind in promoting the value and effects of Aryuvedic medicinal power.

Dr Madan Thangavelu from European Ayurveda Association in Cambridge said the Ayurveda provides concrete examples of successful remedies from traditions which are to be followed. He said when they go out of India people do not understand the concept of Ayurveda which makes its sphere limited. He asked if they could educate all those Indians living abroad or even foreigners who are interested in it.Speaking about the subject of inaugral lecture, he said Triphala is described in Vedas. He praised India for having able qualified person as minister of AYUSH.

Dr. Vidhya Unikrishnnan, first speaker on Triphala who studied Ayurveda in Kerala and did her PHD from Jaamnagar explained formulation of Triphla and also its multiple uses.

Another speaker participating in lecture series, Narayana Prakash and Professor Kayachikitsa also narrated benefits of Triphala as the drug is used in ailing simple and even dangerous diseases. They said even research on Triphala as anti cancer drug research is going on .  narrated that Triphala works for ailing obesity, hypertension, diabetes, constipation and many other diseases. Narayana said Triphala is used as Ist drug without even without prescription in India with no harmful effects. It even used for treating liver disorders, alcohol disorders, Jaundice, gum disorders, eye disorders, respiratory disorder, Male Infertility and Skin disorders. In his lecture he described formulation of Triphala for different ages and body types.

The Consel General of India in Toronto demanded for the recognition of Ayurveda in Canada. Moreover, Canada India Foundation played an important role in promoting Ayurveda and Yoga.

Georgy Bhalla, CEO, Tathastu  thanked Dr. Verma and said they have been promoting Yoga, Ayurveda and anything connected to body, soul. He further said one must feel honored and they would take it in a big way. It is a challenge to promote this traditional but true sciences around the world, he adds.
