-268 vendors screened in Mohali, Zirakpur, Derabassi, Kurali & Lalru; Kharar vendors to be screened on April 24.
-Only two found with mild cold & fever
S. A. S. Nagar, April 23: “The District Administration today undertook the screening of the newspaper hawkers,  agents  and  distributors in the entire District with a view to allay the fears in the minds of public besides for the safety of hawkers/ agents.” This was disclosed here today by the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan.
Divulging more, he said that the process of screening was held in Mohali, Zirakpur,Dera Bassi and Lalru and it would be carried out in Kharar,on April 24. Giving more details, he said that in Mohali  183 vendors were screened while 40 vendors and newspaper agents were screened in Zirakpur and 12 underwent the screening process in Lalru.
In Derabassi, 18 vendors were screened out of which 17 were found asymptomatic while one was found suffering from mild cold. Similarly, in Kurali, 15 vendors underwent screening and 14 were found asymptomatic while one was found with mild fever.In all, 268 vendors were put through screening.
He further said that nobody was found symptomatic. The teams of Multipurpose Health Workers (MPHW) besides screening the vendors also made them aware about following the social distancing guidelines, using of masks and sanitizers, he added.
