MOSCOW/KYIV, August 3, 2026 — Russian authorities say a Ukrainian drone attack on a holiday destination in the southern Krasnodar region killed seven people, including three children.
The incident occurred in Arkhipo-Osipovka, a resort village near the Black Sea city of Gelendzhik. Regional officials said nearly 40 people were injured after debris from an intercepted or damaged drone fell on an area used by holidaymakers.
Emergency crews treated casualties and inspected nearby buildings for damage. Russian officials accused Ukraine of striking civilians, but Kyiv did not immediately respond to the allegation.
The casualty figures and the precise circumstances of the attack could not be independently established. Russia and Ukraine both deny deliberately targeting civilians, while regularly accusing each other of doing so.
