-Food & Civil Supplies Department to Advertise Vacancies of Depot Holders Soon

-Fair Price Margin of the Depot Holders Enhanced

-Hands over Appointment Letters to 33 recruits in the Food & Civil Supplies Department

-Exhorts them to work with honesty and diligence

Chandigarh: In order to strengthen the Public Distribution system in the State, the Food & Civil Supplies Department will advertise vacancies of Depot Holders very soon, informed Mr.Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Food and Supplies Minister Punjab.

FSM said that in order to ensure the efficient distribution of wheat and other products in the offing, it is a must that there is a Fair Price Shop/Depot in every village of the State. To facilitate the same, the terms and conditions of opening a Fair Price Shop are being revised and are being made more attractive. In line with this the State government has already enhanced, nearly doubled the commission/fair price margin of the depot holders. He also informed that the backlog of payments due to the Fair Price Shop holders have been cleared till March 2016 and the payments for the remaining two cycles will also be released soon.

Earlier, handing over appointment letters to 33 new recruits in the department including 14 Chartered Accountants, 1 IT Manager, 3 Data Entry Operators and 15 Legal Assistants at Anaj Bhawan, Mr.Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, is committed to provide gainful employment in Government and Private sector to the youth of the State. Marching forward in this direction, the State government is striving hard to fill the vacant posts in various departments. In line with the same Food and Civil Supplies department has recruited qualified youth into the department. He said that the work of the department is technical and involves transactions of huge amounts. So, inducting technically sound manpower was a must. He said the induction of professionals into the department will go a long way in streamlining the work of the department.

Felicitating the new recruits the Minister called upon them to work with total commitment, honesty, diligence and thorough professionalism.

Besides others, Mr. YS Ratra (IAS Retd/), Chairman PUNGRAIN, Mr. K.A.P.Sinha, Principal Secretary and Mrs. Anindita Mitra Director, Food & Civil Supplies Department were also present on the occasion.
