After the Madras High Court criticised the Election Commission for allowing election rallies amid COVID-19 spread, the Supreme Court said the remarks were not meant to “run down” the poll panel.

SC asked EC to take HC’s remarks “in the right spirit” and said, “You’ve done a good job.” HC had said EC should probably be booked on murder charges’.
