Doctors at a hospital in Punjab’s Ludhiana removed an extra leg of a one-year-old boy in a surgery lasting six hours.

The boy had a birth defect, tripod deformity, due to which the additional rudimentary leg was arising from his back. The leg was neurologically intact, although its power was reduced. Four doctors performed the surgery that cost ₹1.25 lakh.
