REQUISITE STAY, SECURITY AND TRANSPORTATION ARRANGEMENTS BEING MADE FOR TEAMS

The Government of India has accorded approval to Six Foreign teams for participating in International Kabaddi Tournament-2019 scheduled to begin from December 1 while the Pakistani and Canada Kabaddi Teams will soon get the No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Disclosing this here today, the Director Sports Sanjay Popli informed that the Union Sports & Youth Services Department and Home Department had given nod to USA, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Kenya and New Zealand and the possibility of permission to Pakistan and Canada Teams is expected to be granted shortly. The Director said that the state’s Sports Department is making concerted efforts to get NOC for the Pakistan and Canada teams as the Department was in constant touch with the Government of India in this regard. Apart from India and Pakistan, the teams from USA, Australia, England, Canada, Sri Lanka, Kenya and New Zealand are participating in the tournament, he said.
Director Sports further said that the elaborate accommodation and security arrangements for the teams have been made by the Punjab Police. Besides, requisite transportation arrangements were also made to ferry the teams from hotels to venues, which would be escorted by police personnel.
