Beijing: The Winter Olympics are starting in Beijing, the capital of China, from Friday, February 4. Many western countries including America have done diplomatic boycott of the Games.
Now America has taken a step further in terms of the safety of athletes. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said to American athletes not to take their regular mobile phones to China. Instead of regular mobile phones, they would use prepaid burner phones.
Burner phone refers to such mobile phones, which are cheap and functional. They can be destroyed after use. The term ‘burner phone’ was used for the first time in HBO’s drama series in 2002 . The term burner can be considered to mean use and throw.
