Chandigarh, April 25: In a battle against Covid-19 pandemic outbreak in the state, Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) today distributed face shields for protection of frontline health workers deployed in PHC Dhakoli, Zirakpur and Civil Hospital Phase-6 S.A.S Nagar along with Police personnel deployed at various nakas in Zirakpur.

Disclosing this here today, spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said on the directions of Chief Director-cum ADGP Vigilance Bureau B.K. Uppal, different teams from flying squad have already been formed to monitor the problems being faced by the police personnel and health employees and steps have been taken to resolve their grievances. In this regard, these teams were also providing ration and essential items to the needy persons.

He further informed that a team of VB flying squad-1 led by AIG Ashish Kapoor today distributed face shields to the front line employees of the primary health centre (PHC) Dhakoli, Zirakpur and civil hospital Phase-6, S.A.S Nagar to protect them from any kind of virus attack. Besides this, VB team have also distributed face shields to police personnel at various nakas in Zirakpur hotspot areas.

He encouraged the health workers as well as police personnel and told them to work hard while keeping themselves safe. He said the Bureau would always be at your disposal if you face any difficulty while performing your duty.

He added that VB team have already distributed such face shields to frontline health workers in civil surgeon office at S.A.S Nagar and PHC Nayagaon.

Among others present at various places included DSP Gurvinder Pal Singh, DSP Harbakshish Singh, DSP Raman Deep Singh Bhullar, Inspector Sukhminder Singh, ASI Palvinder Singh, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Omi Chatrath, SMO Dr. Areet Kaur, Medical officer Dr. Mehtab Singh, Dr. Harleen Kaur, Dr. Baljit Kaur and other health workers.
