‘Time to avenge Moosewala’s killing through ballot’

SANGRUR: Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today appealed to people of Sangrur parliamentary constituency to vote for Dalvir Goldy as he combined youth, experience, dynamism and dash to become the voice of Punjab in the parliament.

“Besides, this is the time to avenge Sidhu Moosewala’s murder that was the outcome of criminal negligence and failure of the AAP government to protect his life despite such grave threats”, he said, while wrapping up his party’s campaign in support of Goldy.

The PCC president also took a dig at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for asking for more time to fulfill promises. “What do you need time for? To get people killed at the hands of gangsters the way Moosewala was killed or to push Punjab into communal riots the way it happened in Patiala or to further embolden gangsters who are openly demanding ransom from people?” he asked Kejriwal.

Warring, appealed to people to think carefully as who was the best candidate among all five in the contest. “On the one hand you have tired and worn out turncoats and on the other hand you have puppets of Delhi Durbar and the only deserving candidate with proven credentials is Goldy”, he said, while making a strong case for the Congress candidate.

The PCC president was personally camping here immediately after the bhog ceremony of Sidhu Moosewala. He expressed confidence that people will give Goldy a chance as he had proved himself during the last tenure in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha as a young and energetic legislator who always raised the voice of people.

He said, this was a golden chance for people of Sangrur area, the heart of Malwa, to teach the Aam Aadmi Party government a lesson for all its failures of omission and commission. “Whether it is importing and imposing the Rajya Sabha members in a dubious way from outside or letting the criminals and gangsters a free hand, this is time to make them realize their mistakes”, he told Punjabis.

Warring also questioned the progress in the investigation into the Sidhu Moosewala murder. “May I ask the Punjab government what is its contribution in nabbing the suspects?”, he asked while adding, most of the arrests have been made by the Delhi Police. “Kejriwal’s gloating over the arrest of Lawrence Bishnoi is ridiculous as he was handed over to Punjab Police by Delhi Police”, he pointed out.

“Their incompetence and inexperience coupled with arrogance will ruin Punjab and it is important to shock them with reality check and the Sangrur parliamentary by-election is a golden opportunity to show them the mirror”, the PCC president told the people of Sangrur while reiterating his appeal to vote for the Congress party.

He also thanked all the senior leaders, sitting and former legislators and hundreds of party workers who worked and campaigned round the clock for the party candidate against all odds. “The battle has just begun and we will take it to logical conclusion by emerging victorious in Sangrur”, he remarked, while expressing confidence about the party’s win in the by-election.
