-After preliminary Screening by 25 teams of Health Department their fleet of buses will move to respective district
Fazilka April 28: With the continuous efforts of Punjab Government led by Capt. Amrinder singh, 2585 workers returned back from Jaisalmer (Rajsathan) on Tuesday morning via buses arranged for them by state government. Authorities of state government received convoy of their 61 buses at Village Gumjal situated near the interstate boarder of Punjab and Rajasthan.
Disclosing this here today Deputy Commissioner Mr. Arvind Pal Singh Sandhu said that nationwide lockdown was imposed in view of public interest due to covid 19 pandemic and these labrors stuck there in Rajasthan due to sudden implementation of lockdown measures. These were now staying in five relief camps in Jaisalmer. He said that to bring these people back a massive drive had been launched on the directions of the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh and 61 buses were departured from Fazilka 2 days ago to bring them back.
Deputy Commissioner said that these buses of state transport department today return back with these workers and district administration planned a massive screening program of all the passengers at 8 different locations near inter state boarder to further segregate according to their respective district and medical examination by health team. He said that health department deputed 25 teams to examine these all. He said that among these 1104 are belongs only to Fazilka district and they all are very thankful to Punjab Government for arranging their return to native state.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Arvind Pal Singh Sandhu and District Police Chief Harjit Singh personally visited the village Gumjal and inspected the screening of the workers. Food and tea and water were also provided to all the workers by the district administration and social service organizations.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Subhash, a traveler from Abohar town in Fazilka district said that his return to Punjab was possible only due to the efforts of Punjab government. He said they were stranded in Rajasthan due to the curfew. The workers on the occasion thanked the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh for taking personal interest and paving the way for their return.
These workers included 1104 of Fazilka while 683 belongs to Sri Muktsar Sahib district, 300 belongs to Bathinda, 217 of Faridkot, 57 from Ferozepur, 23 from Mansa, 20 from Patiala, 15 from Jalandhar, 11 from Ludhiana and 32 from Moga 20 from Barnala, 29 from Kapurthala and 74 from Sangrur. After screening these will further departure from here to their respective districts through state transport buses. These workers will be quarantined in their home district in state’s quarantine centers.
