SAS Nagar/Chandigarh : The state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has started fulfilling the promises made to the people, in the first six months itself. “We will fulfill every promise made to the people of the state, even the promises that have not been made will also be fulfilled.” This was stated by Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer while addressing a program organized by a private channel here today.

Meet Hayer said that the State Government’s biggest promise of giving 600 units of free electricity was fulfilled with which 25 lakh domestic consumers got zero bill in the first month itself.

Similarly, on August 15, 100 Aam Aadmi clinics were started in the state. The process of regularizing the temporary employees has been started as also the recruitment processes of 25000 government employees. Each promise is being fulfilled one by one. Apart from this, the promises that were not made are also being fulfilled, such as one MLA-one pension, 9000 acres of possession was freed from the influential peoples, said Meet Hayer.

The Minister said that corruption has been curbed by the State Government to bring the public exchequer out of deficit. As a result of which GST recorded a 27 percent increase. Industries are being encouraged to invest in the state to provide job opportunities for the youth. Rs. 2600 Crore are being invested by the Tata group which is a proof of investment friendly environment being created through governance reforms. The Minister also said that Providing transparent, convenient and corruption-free services to the citizens of the state is the main priority.

Meet Hayer further said that sports environment is being created to root out drugs and make Punjab the number one state in the country in sports. Sports are the main channel to channelize the energy of youth in a positive way. “Khedan Watan Punjab Deyan” has received a huge response. Commonwealth Games players were awarded with an amount of Rs. 9.30 Crore. For the first time, the participating players were awarded with cash prize. Olympian Balbir Singh Senior Scholarship Scheme was started to give scholarships to eminent sportspersons, added Meet Hayer.
