-Even meetings at party head office cancelled to put into practice safety standards needed to counter spread of Coronavirus
Chandigarh – Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced cancellation of all party rallies scheduled till Baisakhi (April 13) in view of safety standards needed to be put into practice to counter the spread of Coronavirus.
Earlier the SAD President had announced cancellation of all party rallies scheduled to be held till March 21. Now this has been extended till April 13 keeping in view the advice of experts that large congregations should be avoided at all costs.
S. Sukhbir Badal said the party would access the threat from Coronavirus post April 13 and then come out with a new schedule for holding of ‘rosh rallies’ which were organized to galvanize the people against the betrayal of all poll promises made to the people by the Congress party as well as abysmal failure of the Congress government on all fronts.
The SAD President said keeping in view safety concerns, the SAD had also taken the unprecedented step of cancelling all party meetings at its head office in Chandigarh which were scheduled to be held over the next more than one week. Meetings of the SAD President with district level leaders had been scheduled for March 14, 17, 18, 19 and 20. Fresh dates for these meetings will also be announced at a later date now, S. Badal disclosed.
