Chandigarh – Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities department issued an order cancelling the fake Schedule Caste certificates of 12 persons of village Alampur under district Patiala.
Divulging in this regard, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr.Baljit Kaur said that on 19 March 2020 Udham Singh son of Bhagwan Singh and Balvir Singh son of Nirmal Singh, residents of village Alampur, district Patiala, given a complaint against 15 persons who made fake certificate of Schedule caste.
Dr. Baljit Kaur said that in view of the judgment given by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 5854 of 1994 dated 02.09.1994, the Government has vigilance cell at directorate level through notification dated 10.12.2004 to verify the authenticity of the social status certificate Scrutiny committee was formed at the state level.
This committee, while considering the matter, gave several opportunities for hearing to the concerned persons and ordered them to submit copies of their caste certificates for verification. After this, caste certificates were presented by 3 out of 15 persons.
Cabined Minister said that according to the report of Tehsildar Patiala, Scheduled Caste certificates were not submitted by 12 persons. Regarding which another opportunity was given to present their certificates to the state level scrutiny committee through public notice in newspapers, but 12 persons did not present their caste certificates.
She said that the committee, while examining the records, found that 12 persons belonging village Alampur Kasmir Singh son of Inder Singh, Amandeep Singh son of Bhag Singh, Vicky son of Bhag Singh, Manjit Kaur wife of Bhag Singh, Angrej Singh son of Kashmir Singh, Kulwant Kaur wife of Baljit Singh, Jaswant Singh son of Swaran Singh, Swaran Singh son of Pala Singh, Gurpreet Singh son of Swaran Singh, Balvir Kaur wife of Swaran Singh, Davinder Singh son of Sewa Singh and Narinder Singh son of Sewa Singh were make fake Scheduled Caste certificate, whereas these persons Sikhs belong to the Rajput caste. The committee has ordered to cancel the Scheduled Caste certificates of concerned and confiscate wrongly made certificates.
