Two U.S. fighter aircraft were met with an accident on Thursday while filling in oil mid-air in Japan.
Six US officials are missing after the accident.
Officials of both countries have provided this information.
According to a statement released by the US Marines in Japan, F/A-18 fighter aircraft and KC-130 tanker have been crashed.
The accident took place 200 meters away from the coast of Japan at 2 o’clock in the night.
An official from the US Department of Defense said that after the flight from Marin Corps Air Station (MCAS) located in Iwakuni, South Japan, the aircraft got crashed.
A spokesman for Japan’s Maritime Self-Defence Force said one of those from the fighter jet has been rescued but the rest are still missing. Doctors are investigating the survivor.
According to a Japanese official, it is believed that 5 personnel were on the C-130 and two on F-18.
Japan has deployed nine Japanese aircraft and three vessels in the discovery of missing air soldiers and the United States has thanked them for this favor.
A Marines statement said: “We are thankful for the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force’s efforts as they immediately responded in the search and rescue operation.”
According to the American media, there were two aircrafts in the C-130s and F-18s in the two aircrafts. The army said that investigations are ongoing in what situations happened in the accident.
