Chandigarh, April 23: The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 647371 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on ninth day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 647371 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 646830 MT of wheat 541 MT has been procured by the private traders(arhtias).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 139659 metric tonnes, MARKFED 158032 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 148529 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 89390 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 60031 MT wheat .Apart from this Pungrain Procured 51189 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 2797108 MT.
