Chandigarh, April 26:The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 650135 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on tweleveth day of procurement.

Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 650135 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 647026 MT of wheat 3109 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtias).

He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 130076 metric tonnes, MARKFED 155192 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 157803 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 88842 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 75166 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 39946 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.

Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 4836785 MT.
Spokesperson further said that agencies have lifted 5 LMT wheat from mandies.
