Chandigarh, April 29: The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 667871 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on fifteenth day of procurement.

Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 667871 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 665561 MT of wheat 2310 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtiyas).

He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 165443 metric tonnes, MARKFED 141343 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 125857 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 102536 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 79560 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 50822 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.

He further said today 535434 LMT wheat lifted from the Mandies and Payment of rupees 5717 cr has been made for the procurement of wheat.
