Canada – A Sikh leader from Canada Ripudaman Singh Malik is shot dead on Thursday in front of his office in 128/82, Surrey. Malik was a businessman from Vancouver.

Malik runs Khalsa schools in Canada. He was suspect in All India Kanishka bombing that happened in 1985  but was acquitted  by Canadian Judicary in 2005.

In a press release, Surrey RCMP said the shots were fired in 8200 block of 128 street. Police located a man  suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was given first aid services by the time Emergency Health services reached the spot. The injured man scummbed to his injuries at the spot.

The police said that this seemed to be a targeted killing. A suspect vehicle also found but it was engulfed in flames.

The president of Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi Paramjit Singh Sarna has posted a condolence message on his twitter account.

Sources view, Malik might have been targeted as he has written a letter to PM Modi for expressing his deepest gratitute for steps taken by Indian Union Government for the Sikh community.
