Both Leaders Talked On Phone To Tackle Big Issues Together

US suspended its tariff plans on Canada for a month after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and American President Donald Trump talked today.

In an economic war started by US President Donald Trump against Canada, Mexico and China, there’s a sigh of relief for Canada and Mexico. Though both countries retaliated to Trump in same manner but after diplomatic talks Trump has postponed plans of levying Tarrifs on two countries till March 3.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has put the details of his telephonic talks with his American counterpart Donald Trump on his X platform.  Trudeau has promised 1.3 billion border plan and PM made a commitment to appoint Fentanyl Czar to stop the free flow of drug between both countries.

Trudeau in his post also conveyed that drug cartels will be listed as terrorists and also about working together with US to stop organized crime, and money laundering. It alsot talks about 1.3 billion border plan.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and US President Donald Trump discussed the looming trade war and its economic fallout. The two leaders will meet again tomorrow.

Trump said he was fulfilling his campaign promise to take revenge on countries he claims are destroying America. In his social media post, Trump said the trade war is a war on drugs. Millions of people have died because of drugs flowing into the US from Canada and Mexico.

The Prime Minister’s Office and the White House did not immediately release information about what the two leaders discussed, but a spokesperson for Trudeau told CBC News that they discussed trade and the border and confirmed that they would speak again on Tuesday before the tariffs go into effect.

Trump also spoke with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum during the meeting. Sheinbaum said in a social media post that he had a good conversation with Trump. He has agreed to deploy 10,000 Mexican National Guard troops to the U.S. border.

He said that the commitment has resulted in a month-long suspension of tariffs. It was not clear whether he was referring to Trump’s tariffs on Mexico or Mexico’s threat of retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods.

In a social media post after his call with Trudeau, Trump chided Canada for not allowing U.S. banks to open or do business in Canada. Canada’s large banks hold more than 93 percent of all domestic banking assets, according to government data. Canadian banks are regularly ranked among the safest in the world.

As per the situation previous day, people in Canada started preparing themselves through various social media messages to start avoiding US goods. Even in some posts say that American liquors were taken away from shelves in Ontario. PM Trudeau too announced retaliatory measures to levy taxes on American goods.

Now, it seems to halt at least for a month. In a way Trump fulfilled his promise to the voters and took U turn to save economic disasters.
